Donner Summit, CA… Snowboarder-based reality television show, ‘The Block’, will bring its terrain park competition tour to Boreal Mountain Resort for its grand final on-snow competition Friday night, January 12. Competition judges will include U.S. Olympic Snowboard Team Member Andy Finch and the internationally renowned professional snowboarder and co-owner of The Block Hotels, Marc Frank Montoya. The show’s 15 riders will compete for prize money, snowboard gear, and complimentary vacations at The Block Hotel – but will have to pull out all the stops to win, considering the final competition will include professional snowboarders like Robbie Sell, Curtis Woodman, Steven Duke, and Jimi Tomer. ‘The Block’ is the nation’s first reality television show which gives an up-close look at snowboarding and snowboard lifestyle, featuring 15 snowboarders who were hand-picked by professional snowboarder Marc Frank Montoya, to live and work in his South Lake Tahoe based hotel, also named The Block. Boreal Mountain Resort was sought out for two out of the five park competitions, including this Friday’s Block Championship. Held on two of Boreal’s signature features (staircase to wallride), the 15 snowboarders and guest pros will show their urban rail skills. ‘The Block’ Reality TV Show will air Monday nights at 10 pm starting January 15 on the G4 Network. Tossing inhibitions to the wind, Boreal Mountain Resort reminds us that snow is for play, and everyone gets a whole winter of practice at being 10. Fresh eyes, open minds, and the intuitive Zen of fearless youth prevail at Boreal, and new experiences await anyone who elects to play.
