Boreal Expands Top-to-Bottom
Donner Summit, CA, (November 9, 2011) – Boreal Mountain Resort is preparing to open the Accelerator High-Speed Quad tomorrow, November 9, 2011 which will offer top-to-bottom skiing and riding. Natural snowfall this month exceeding 20 inches, in addition to a week of frigid temperatures has enabled Boreal to expand its terrain to the top.
Committed to opening early, Boreal is once again the first and only ski resort open in California with the best early conditions seen in many years. The cold temperatures have allowed Boreal’s snowmaking crew to work day and night building a snow base of 12”-14” for skiers and rider to enjoy. Over the past several days the snowmaking crew has worked their way to the top of the mountain ensuring the upper mountain will be open in time for Veteran’s Day. On Wednesday, Boreal will operate two lifts (Accelerator High-Speed Quad and Castle Peak Quad) from 9am – 9pm providing access to as many as 5 runs. Beginning on Friday, November 11th, Boreal will add the Nugget double chair offering more terrain for beginners and ski school. Terrain parks will be expanding on Friday as well.
“We are off to a superb start this season,” stated Jon Slaughter, Boreal Marketing Director. “Business has been great so far. I think the early snowfall has energized skiers and riders this season,” Slaughter continued.
