Donner Summit, CA… Boreal Mountain Resort announced today that its marquee terrain park feature, the superpipe, will open for skiing and snowboarding Monday, January 14. Located on Race Course Run and accessible via the Accelerator High Speed Quad chairlift, Boreal Mountain Resort currently offers Tahoe’s only superpipe for winter 06/07. Boreal has gained a reputation for providing a superpipe with spot-on specs. 450’ in length, 18.5’ high walls, with a consistent slope grade of 15 degrees qualify Boreal’s superpipe as an Olympic-caliber terrain park feature. U.S. Olympic Snowboard Team member Andy Finch has also been eagerly awaiting Boreal’s superpipe. “I’m fired up to get in the first pipe of the season at Boreal,” he said. Finch’s specialty is the superpipe. New for winter 2007, Boreal installed additional lighting specifically around the superpipe. Boreal will now offer the only night superpipe in the U.S. Groomed twice daily, skiers and riders can expect this signature feature be in top shape from 9am to 9pm.
