Media Contact: Jon Slaughter Boreal Mountain Resort 530.426.3666 x184 IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 20, 2011 Spring at Boreal Keeps Getting Better Donner Summit, CA, (April 20, 2011) – The spring skiing/riding which California is famous for was nonexistent during the month of March, thanks to over 20 feet of snowfall. The sun is shining, and Boreal Mountain Resort has extended the season allowing skiers and riders to enjoy turns while the sun is shining and the snow is soft. Boreal has is offering daily operations to April 24th, and plans are in place to operate weekends only (Friday – Sunday) during the month of May (as conditions permit). Night operations will end after April 23rd. “We have seen great business day and night, so the decision to extend operations was an easy one,” stated Jon Slaughter, Marketing Director. Guests at Boreal this spring can expect a freshly built Superpipe, BagJump open Wednesday – Sunday, three full terrain parks, fun-filled tubing lanes, plus plenty of freshly groomed trails. “Boreal is on track to have its longest season on record,” said Shaydar Edelmann, Boreal Mountain Manager. “We are always the first to open, but now Boreal is looking at being one of the last resorts to close in Northern California.” Boreal is taking advantage of the longer than normal season by hosting several events to celebrate spring including the Smokin’ Snowboards “Pool Party” (April 30), a “Game of SNOW” competition (May 7), Academy Snowboard Camp (May 14-15) and more.
