Boreal Reopening 7 Days/Week

Donner Summit, CA, (November 2, 2011) – Boreal Mountain Resort will reopen the mountian on Friday, November 4, 2011.  A cold air mass moving across Donner Summit has allowed Boreal to resume snowmaking operations.  Additionally the National Weather Service is predicting 3”-5” of natural snow to fall on Thursday, November 3, 2011.  With fresh snow on the horizon, Boreal will reopen for skiing and riding seven days per week.

Boreal is known for opening early in the season, and this year has been no exception.  The Nugget chairlift opened last Friday and Saturday allowing skiers & riders to take to the slopes.  Now thanks to cold temperatures and natural snow in the forecast, Boreal will reopen with the Castle Peak Quad chairlift and continue operations for the remainder of the season (conditions permitting).

“The turn out last weekend for our October opening was incredible,” stated Jon Slaughter, Boreal Marketing Director.  “Now the weather has turned in our favor, setting up another successful early season.”  Boreal will operate 9am – 9pm, beginning Saturday as conditions permit, while still taking advantage of every snowmaking opportunity.  “The current cold temperatures will allow us to rapidly expand the coverage on our slopes and open more lifts,” said Shaydar Edelmann, Director of Mountain Operations.

Boreal has selected Friday, November 4, 2011 as another $15-for-All day, making all lift tickets only $15.  Beginning on Saturday, November 5^th lift ticket rates will be $35 for teens and adults.  Pricing is subject to change as more terrain becomes available including top-to-bottom operations.  All base area services will be available including private lessons base on availability only.
