Guldemond, Cosco Each Win $3,000 at JPI3 Thousands Cheer Skiing and Snowboarding’s Top Competitors DONNER SUMMIT, Calif., -- Boreal Mountain Resort and Liberty Skis, in association with Snowboard Magazine and FUEL TV, are pleased to announce snowboarder Chaz Guldemond and skier Ian Cosco each won $3,000 in their respective disciplines at the 3rd Annual Jibassic Pro Invitational Rail Jam Saturday, Oct. 13. Snowboarders Mike Cassanova and Cameron Pierce took what leading judge and Boreal Mountain Resort Terrain Park Director Eric Rosenwald deemed, “close second.” Skiers Tim Russell and Truckee-local Andrew McDowell also took close second. Rosenwald and his terrain park staff handed out $2,000 in hundred-dollar bills to best tricks and even some best spills, including local Moment Skis Rider Sean Hartel’s back flip attempts off the Red Bull Bus. An Estimated crowd of more than 3,500 spectators packed the venue for a night of world-class skiing and snowboarding. The rail jam action was split between practice and finals by Blank Paper’s snowboard movie, In Short, and Eric Iberg’s latest ski film, Idea. Iberg and film star Pep Fujas spoke to the audience before premiering their one-of-a-kind ski movie. It [Idea] was well-received,” said Fujas after the outdoor showing. “I think the crowd really enjoyed the movie and surrounding atmosphere of a bonfire and cold temperatures. This kind of reception makes me feel a whole lot better about producing the movie. It’s like all your hard work paid off, added Fujas.
