Boreal Opening July 23rd for Second Annual Summer Shred

Media Contact: Jon Slaughter Boreal Mountain Resort 530.426.3666 x184 IMMEDIATE RELEASE Boreal Opening July 23rd for Second Annual Summer Shred Donner Summit, CA, (July 14, 2011) – Boreal Mountain Resort will spin a chairlift on July 23rd for skiers and snowboarders to enjoy summer snow in celebration of the new Woodward Tahoe coming in the summer of 2012. Boreal Mountain Resort will run the Castle Peak Quad chairlift granting access to an abundance of snow left behind after the record setting snowfall Boreal received this winter. “The snowpack this winter was incredible (final total over 800 inches), and since we have all the snow still on the mountain we decided to open up for a day so our guests can enjoy it,” said Jon Slaughter, Boreal Marketing Director. “Skiing and riding in the summer is a unique opportunity,” Slaughter added. Boreal will provide a full terrain park on one run available for skiing and riding. Beginner terrain will not be available, only one terrain park. Food, beverages, rental equipment and retail will be available. Bring sunscreen and get ready to have winter fun under the summer sun. Boreal Mountain Resort will be open from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm on July 23, 2011. Lift tickets will cost $25 for teen/adults (ages 13+), $15 for children (ages 5-12) and all 2011/2012 season pass will be accepted. Season passes will also be on sale for as little as $129.
