Media Contact: Jon Slaughter Boreal Mountain Resort 530.426.3666 x184 IMMEDIATE RELEASE Boreal Mountain Resort Successfully Completes Best Season in Five Years Donner Summit, CA, (April 15, 2011) – Boreal Mountain Resort, an affordable, convenient winter ski resort near Lake Tahoe, today announced that it successfully completed its best sales performance in the last five years. “We are grateful to have had such incredible conditions early season with very cold temperatures followed by abundant snowfall that continued, well through May,” said Jody Churich, general manager at Boreal. “Our snowfall totals were just shy of 500 inches tying the 05/06 winter which marked the most snowfall measured in the last ten years.” Boreal also established the 2009/2010 ski season as the best on record for season pass sales, an increase of 19% over prior year. Soda Springs, sister resort to Boreal marked its best performance ever. “A lot of planning and hard work went into Soda Springs over the last few years and to see so many kids and families enjoying our resort it was a really great feeling” said Churich who also manages Soda Springs. Soda Springs saw a 25% sales increase over last season. Boreal awaits several feet of melting snow to get started on summer improvements which include the expansion of its snowmaking system, grooming fleet, and improved night lighting program. Soda Springs’ expansion includes a tuber adventure zone and expanded terrain in the locally-popular Planet Kids fun zone. “The emphasis we place on our on-mountain experience allows us to solidify our place as Tahoe’s best valued resorts for skiing, riding and tubing” said Jon Slaughter, marketing director for Boreal and Soda Springs.
