Arrival

Parking

When you arrive at Boreal the first thing to do is park the car. Boreal has a large parking lot so you and your family will waste no time finding a parking spot.

Passes / Lessons

Learning to ski and snowboard takes time and patience.  Everyone excels at various speeds. Set realistic expectations, and plan to schedule three or more days on the snow to really get the hang of the sport. Only trying is once may be discouraging.

Boreal offers group and private ski and snowboard lessons.  Although your friends or family my offer to teach you, we recommend taking a lesson.  Our instructors are patient and are trained to help make your first time safe and enjoyable. Group lessons are a great way to learn and meet new friends. If are looking for a one on one lesson, a private lesson would be the best option for you.

Boreal offers a beginner package that includes a limited lift pass, ski or snowboard rental and a 1 ¾ hour group lesson. Lessons are available at 10:15am-12:00pm, 12:15 pm-2:00 pm, and 2:30 pm daily. The Learn-to package is an excellent way to learn and save money.

You may purchase your package at the rental counter or a private lesson at the Special Ticket Desk located on the first floor of the main lodge.

Equipment/Rentals

Boreal’s rental shop is located on the first floor of the main lodge where you will need to go to get your gear and get started. Whether you want to ski or ride for the first time, Boreal has the gear you need. Boreal’s expert rental staff will fit you with the proper equipment. Having the proper equipment which is fitted specifically for you can make your first experience more enjoyable. If you are borrowing a friend’s equipment, ask our rental staff to ensure the equipment properly fitted for you. You should never ski or ride equipment that is not the right size or not properly adjusted.

Educate yourself on helmet use.  We recommend wearing a helmet while skiing and snowboarding.  Helmets are available for rent at Boreal for $5 and also for sale at Boreal’s retail shop.  Rental Helmets are based upon availability, while supplies last.

Food

You are a high performance skiing or snowboarding machine that requires plenty of fuel. If you would like to buy a snack before you begin your lesson, or weren’t able to get breakfast or lunch, the food court on the second floor of the Boreal main lodge offers a wide variety of snacks, beverages and meal options.
